The 100 Strangers Project

I started this project in May of 2011. The mission is quite simple – photograph 100 strangers you don't know. The method is learning by doing. The goal is to improve both social and technical skills needed for taking portraits of strangers and sharing their stories.

What interested me about the project was not only the sheer concept of taking a portrait, but conquering my fear of human interaction and being vulnerable with my subject. In lack of a better term – "I'm here to kick social anxiety in the ass with my camera!"

As you browse each stranger, be sure to click on their individual thumbnail to view the full image. Also, hovering over the picture displays their story I had with them.
